Local area guide - Cheltenham
Cheltenham is a vibrant spa town with historic charm. There are 45 music, art, science and literature events that happen throughout the year (pretty much one a week!) so there is always something to check out.
Shaftesbury Hall is just a short walk from the town centre and everything that it has to offer. If you’re into history and heritage, The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum has permanent and changing exhibitions you can explore for free. Or, you could join a tour around the town highlighting the best of Cheltenham’s past.
Maybe food and drink is more your thing? There is a restaurant, café and takeaway for all tastes and diets in Cheltenham, whether you want to have a taste of home or something brand new. Check out the Visit Cheltenham Food Guide for some inspiration:

The great thing about Cheltenham is the fact that it is located smack-bang in the middle of so many amazing things. Going by train you can be in Bristol in 30 minutes, Birmingham in 45 minutes and exploring Cardiff in just over an hour. Maybe getting some countryside air is on your agenda? Cheltenham is on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds with picturesque villages set in rolling hills. You can reach a lot of them by bus – check the local timetable before setting out on your adventure.
