Black Friday deals are already all over the high street and internet. It's one of Customer Services' busiest times of year for post and parcels, so we've made a list of tips you can do to speed up your collection.
Our post rooms are quite small. Because of this, we are unable to take large parcels over 15kg. We'd also really appreciate it if you came and collected your parcel as soon as possible, after you have received our notification (more on that below!).
Tips for quick collections:
- Double check your address is correct. Include your student ID number, room number and flat number. We can process parcels much quicker when we find you in the system.
- Wait for us to send an email notification letting you know your parcel is ready for collection. Ignore any email from your courier saying it has been delivered - that just means it's arrived on campus. We don't want you to waste your time in a queue only to be told that we haven't processed it yet.
- Collect your parcel as quickly as possible. As we said above, it frees up room for more deliveries in our post room.
- Bring your student ID card with you when collecting your parcel. This lets us check we're giving the right parcel to the right person.
- Be aware of peak times. On Frenchay campus, Customer Services are busiest between 11:00-13:00 and 16:00-19:00. If you can pop in between those times, that would reduce our queues and your wait.
- You can nominate a friend to collect on your behalf. You'll need to email Accommodation Services giving your friend permission, along with their name and Student ID.
- If you're ordering from Amazon, you can have it delivered to one of the Amazon lockers on Frenchay campus.
And finally, is this something you could collect or buy in store instead? Bristol is bustling with independent shops to support, as well as your regular high street chains. Why not take a trip to Cribbs, Cabot Circus or Gloucester Road instead of waiting for it to be delivered?
