As part of Green Week 2025 (3–9 November), UWE Bristol is hosting an Employers Drop-In on Tuesday 4 November, offering students a unique chance to connect with organisations leading the way in sustainability and climate action. This free event is open to all students and provides a hands-on way to explore careers in the green sector.
What to Expect
The drop-in takes place in the Careers Lounge, Level 2, Frenchay Library, from 11:00 to 14:00. No booking is required, you can simply drop in for as long as you like to speak with employers and gather information.
Attending the session gives you the chance to:
· Ask organisations about what different sustainability roles actually involve.
· Find out what skills, experience, and qualifications are most valuable in green careers.
· Network with professionals who are actively involved in shaping Bristol’s sustainable future.
· Discover internship, placement, or graduate opportunities that align with your interests.
Who Will Be There
A range of organisations with sustainability at their core will attend, including:
· Triodos Bank – a leading ethical bank focused on financing sustainable initiatives.
· Renishaw Sustainability Team – innovators in sustainable engineering and design.
· Bristol Energy Network – supporting energy transformation and clean energy projects in the city.
· Bristol City Leap – working on long-term sustainable energy infrastructure for Bristol.
This is a rare opportunity to speak directly to employers who are actively recruiting or shaping the future of sustainable industries. Even if your degree isn’t directly linked to sustainability, attending could help you explore how to bring your interests into your career.
Tips for Making the Most of the Drop-In
· Prepare questions in advance about roles, career paths, and required skills.
· Bring a copy of your CV if you want informal feedback or to leave with potential employers.
· Take notes during conversations to follow up later with contacts you’ve made.
· Treat it as a networking opportunity — introductions made at this event could lead to future internships or jobs.
By attending the Employers Drop-In, students can gain insights, build connections, and start shaping a career that has a positive impact on both the environment and society. Green Week is the perfect opportunity to explore how your studies, skills, and passion can translate into a meaningful role in sustainability.
