What a year!

As the 2025–2026 academic year draws to a close, Student Life is reflecting on a year of activity, connection and community across UWE Bristol accommodation and campuses.

From Welcome activities in September through to end-of-year events, the programme has provided opportunities for students to meet others, take part in new experiences and build a sense of belonging. A wide range of events were delivered throughout the year, including social activities, cultural celebrations, wellbeing-focused sessions and collaborative initiatives with student groups and support services.

Highlights included interactive and engaging events such as Guide Dogs visits, offering students a chance to relax, connect and learn more about accessibility, and Salsa on Campus, which brought students together through music, movement and cultural exchange. Alongside these, popular activities such as games nights, craft sessions and themed events continued to support student wellbeing and social connection.

Student Life has continued to prioritise inclusive and accessible provision, working alongside teams such as Additional Learning Support (ALS) and student societies to ensure activities meet a broad range of needs. This includes the development of quieter and autism-friendly events, alongside opportunities for students to engage in ways that feel comfortable and supportive.

The Student Life 2025–2026 Wrap Reel highlights key moments from across the year, capturing the variety of events and the student engagement that has shaped the programme.

Student participation remains central to Student Life, and the success of this year’s programme reflects the enthusiasm and involvement of those who took part.

As planning begins for the next academic year, Student Life will continue to build on this work, with a focus on creating opportunities for connection, inclusivity and student engagement across the UWE Bristol community.
