Kate Dibisky (Jennifer Lawrence), a doctoral candidate at Michigan State University, discovers an unknown comet. Her professor, Doctor Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio), confirms that it will collide with Earth in approximately six months and is large enough to cause a global extinction event. NASA verifies the findings, and Dr. Teddy Oglethorpe, head of their Planetary Defence Coordination Office, accompanies Dibiasky and Mindy to present their findings to the White House. However, they are met with apathy from President Janie Orlean (Meryl Streep) and her Chief of Staff Jason Orlean (Jonah Hill), who is also her son.

Don't Look Up shows us what happens if we wait too long to interrogate our culture and ourselves, lose sight of the truth and fail to take action. It is a clever, unapologetic brash satire about a future America so consumed with celebrity worship, brain-numbing infotainment, social media popularity and political gamesmanship that it refuses to take the impending destruction of the planet seriously.

Not for the faint-hearted!
