How to use your Prefect heater

Posted 1 year ago

A quick guide to warming your home

If your accommodation is fitted with a Prefect heater, it might take a little getting used to. It constantly monitors the temperature of your room to keep it at a comfortable level. If you want it warmer, you can boost it by pressing the button.

Using prefect

Prefect heater controls explained:

The top arrow button increases the temperature and the heating level will be indicated on the screen.

The bottom arrow button turns the temperature down.

There are 3 modes;:

  • Frost
  • Setback
  • Boost range

Setback mode is active most of the time, this keeps your room at a constant comfortable temperature. This is around 19°C or the average temperature of a UK home. If you want your room to be warmer, press the up arrow button to enter boost range mode.

Frost mode becomes active when your room is left empty for long periods of time.

The controller has a PIR (passive infra-red) sensor which tells the sensor what to do, for example, if you set the mode to boost range and leave your room for a long period of time, it'll switch back to setback mode to save energy.

Once you return if you need more heat simply click the up arrow button.

If you think there is something wrong with your heater, email Accommodation Services, and they'll investigate.
