The UWE Bristol campuses span 150 hectares (1.5 km²), with significant portions of Glenside Campus and Bower Ashton designated as conservation areas.
In 2020, UWE Bristol declared a climate and ecological emergency and developed a landscape and biodiversity action plan to address the crisis. By 2024, we committed to becoming a Nature Positive university, joining a growing number of higher education institutions worldwide.
Our Grounds team collaborates with the natural environment to enhance biodiversity, employing sustainable gardening techniques to create beautiful spaces for students and staff to enjoy for leisure, study, and practical experience. 🌳🌼
